Cewing Circle Ladies Unite-We are making a pillow. :)

Hello friends! I have been captain of the slacker department lately as it pertains to blogging, cooking, making pumpkin-related things, and overall self care. The good news is that what that means is that baptism by fire is happening in the whole photography department. But, what that also means is that balls are being dropped all over the place in the life of yours truly. Alas, I wanted to share some exciting info as passed along by our lovely Cewing Circle Ceamstress Extraordinaire, Mary Beates. (I know, the C thing is getting ridiculous....bare with.) This is what you should bring with you next time if you plan to come to our December meeting:

sewing machine (if you have one)
1 yard fabric (washed and dried-very important! prevents shrinkage of final product...)
thread to match
scissors
pillow form or pillow stuffing

Speaking of NEXT TIME, I am referring to our monthly pre-determined first Tuesday. So, according to my trusty calendar, that means that December 7th at 7:30pm will be go time. At Hannah's again. Which, BTW, if you haven't been to this bachelorette pad, is just an amazing place to gather. :)

If you missed out on the inaugural get-together (which many of you had last minute stuff come up), we had a lovely time snacking on Hannah's fall baked goodies (sister has a little bit of Martha running through her blood, I tell you). And then, we learned all about patterns. It's genius really. The folks out there in the big blue sky of making clothes and things have really thought it out and have a systematic way of helping special people like me figure out how to produce a real garment. Mary also showed us several pieces that she has made over the years and explained the procedures a bit. Please don't let missing the first meeting stop you from coming to the 2nd. It is a very casual environment and we will not beat you with our Fiskars if you need extra help....or at least I won't. Mary?

So now, it's getting real folks. We are really going to make something. And that something is a PILLOW. The possibilities are endless here ladies. Just google "DIY pillow tutorial" and see how many super cute pillows could be in our futures. So head on out to your fabric mecca of choice (this will be likely be Joann's for me because of the 40% weekly coupons...) and get yourself a yard of the stuff and join us. Go to joann.com and michaels.com to sign up for these lovely weekly coupons. Side note if you haven't tickled your craft fancy lately, they both honor each other's coupons, so you can get 2 items for 40% off per visit. Score.

FYI-Michael's doesn't carry fabric.

If you plan to come, please leave a comment or shoot me an email just so we have an idea of how many to expect, okey doke? Hope to see you there! :)
