The bug's first Halloween.
And her second.
And drumroll for her third...
I cannot believe that she actually allowed me to put this wig on her. Turns out that giving your child free reign to an entire bucket full of candy makes them more willing to oblige to an otherwise unthinkable action. Good to know. I got the directions to make this delightful piece from a Disney Family magazine. It only took me three tries to get it functional.
She's all hyped up here on the aforementioned sugar.
She stayed loopy for a few hours. Really. Like a little crazy person. But, it is only one day per year. And so worth it to see her having so much fun. :) It only took me 2 tries to sew this little smock for Pocahontas. I only needed to grease her up a little bit to get her out of the first attempt... :) I guess that's what happens when you really don't know how to sew and you "make" a pattern out of parchment paper.
She spent most of the time sans wig,
which I don't fault her for at all.
After all, it's Florida, so that means that even though it's almost November, the sun stays confused for a few months more before it decides to stop scorching down on you so much. I am not very subtle about my loathing of continual summer, am I? Ugh. I digress. This is a good view of her little moccasins. Once I found a leather punch, I was in business with these babies.
Sooo, Halloween 2010 was a raging success. We enjoyed trunk or treat at Orangewood. Selah got to really experience the whole people giving you candy thing for the first time and she just loved it. Once she was done with that part, she was even kind enough to help some friends give out their candy to the other kids. Awww. Little cutie pie.
And now, I will leave you with my other
favorite image of the evening:
I mean seriously. How cute could she be? She was stumbling all over the place in these things. Don't know her or her parents. Just saw the cuteness and had to share. Happy Halloween ya'll!
